Warnings

• Only for lashing, not for lifting
• Only use web lashing if it does not show any signs of damage
• Spread web lashings all-over the whole load
• Web lashings shall not be overloaded
• Web lashings shall never be used when knotted any also shall not be twisted
• Do not dispose any loads on the web lashing
• For ratchet straps, only the maximum hand force of 500 N (50 daN on the label; 1 daN = 1 kg) shall be applied. Mechanical aids such as levers, bars etc. as extensions are not to be used unless they are part of the tensioning device. Soft loop straps are not application to this point.
• Only legibly marked and labelled web lashings shall be used
• The webbing shall be protected against friction, abrasion and damage from loads with sharp edges
• Damage to labels shall be prevented by keeping them away from sharp edges of the load and, if possible, from the load.

• When selecting and using the lashing strap, the necessary lashing force, the type of use and the type of load to be lashed must be taken into account.
• The selected lashing strap must be strong and long enough for the intended use.
• Polyester is resistant to mineral acids, but is attacked by alkalis.
• The lashing strap is suitable for use in the temperature range -40 °C to 60 °C.
• A change in ambient temperature during transport may affect the force in the strap. The lashing force must be checked after entering warm regions.
• If there are signs of damage, the lashing strap must be taken out of service, e.g. in case of cracks, cuts, indentations, breaks, deformations, strong signs of wear or if the label of the strap is damaged or blurred.If accidental contact with chemicals occurs, the lashing strap must be taken out of service and the manufacturer or supplier must be consulted.
• Regular visual inspection before and after use is recommended.
• Straps must be protected from friction and abrasion and from damage caused by loads with sharp edges by the use of protective covers and/or edge protectors.
• During loading and unloading attention has to be paid to proximity of any low overhead power lines. Before attempting to unload a unit of load its web lashings shall be released so that it can be lifted freely from the load platform. Release of the web lashing: Care should be taken to ensure that the stability of the load is independent of the lashing equipment and that the release of the web lashing shall not cause the load to fall off the vehicle, thus endangering the personnel. If necessary attach lifting equipment for further transport to the load before releasing the tensioning device in order to prevent accidental falling and/or tilting of the load. This applies as well when using tensioning devices which allow controlled removal. Because of different behaviour and elongation under load conditions, different lashing equipment (e. g. lashing chain and web lashings) shall not be used to lash the same load. Consideration shall also be given to ancillary fittings (components) and lashing devices in the load restraint assembly are compatible with the web lashing.

Operation of the product

Fit lashing strap

1. lift clamp lock
2. operate lever
3. insert end of belt through opening from below
4. pull the belt through while holding the lever in place
5. tighten as far as possible
6. release lever
7. if necessary, apply edge protection pad (not included in scope of delivery)
8. tighten again

Releasing the lashing strap

1. operate lever
2. pull the webbing through
3. for storage, roll up the webbing in the direction of the clamp lock and fix it with both elastic bands.

Important Safeguards

• Close supervision is necessary when the product is used by children.
• For indoor use only.
• Avoid contacting product or parts thereof are in motion. Keep hands, hair, and clothing away from moving product to reduce the risk of injury to persons and/or damage to the product.
• Do not modify or alter the product in any way.
• Do not operate the product, 5-star base or any other connected object when product has been damaged.

Limited warranty and liability

BSSW America GmbH guarantees the product against defects in workmanship and material for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of shipment or date of invoice, whichever is later. The product must be used and installed for its intended purpose, or this warranty is void.

This limited warranty does not cover problems with your product that were caused by accident, abuse, misuse, neglect, fire or exposure to heat, bright light, sun, liquids, sand or other contaminants, contact with cleaners or other chemicals, unauthorized use, alterations or repair, theft, or other external causes such as malfunction of other electronic equipment.

Any alteration or modification of the product will also void this warranty. BSSW America GmbH OBLIGATION UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO THE REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS. No other warranty or remedy shall be provided. This warranty specifically does not guarantee or cover payment or reimbursement of any damages or consequential damages beyond the above.

Any claim under this warranty must be made in writing within twelve (12) months of the date of shipment or the date of invoice, whichever is later. If it is determined that the product is defective in material or workmanship a replacement will occur at no charge and return freight prepaid by BSSW America GmbH. All other return of product shall be at the customer’s sole expense.

BSSW America GmbH AND ITS AUTHORIZED AGENTS, EMPLOYEES AND REPRESENTATIVES SPECIFICALLY AND EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND/OR ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY WHICH MIGHT OTHERWISE BE APPLICABLE UNDER ANY STATE OR FEDERAL LAW. IN NO CASE SHALL THE COMPANY BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF THIS OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY.

BSSW America GmbH disclaims any consequential damages to person or property, damages for loss of use, lost time, loss of profit, lost income, loss of the product itself and/or other incidental or consequential damages other than as warranted by BSSW America GmbH limited warranty. Customer accepts the responsibility of removing from service any product that becomes worn out, unusable, unfit for intended use or defective in any way such as to make the product a potential safety hazard. BSSW America GmbH is unable to undertake such obligations or responsibilities on behalf of the customer as the customer is in sole possession and control of the product. If the product proves defective, and you follow the instructions that we will provide to you for returning the product, we will, at our option, take one of the following actions:

1. replace the product with either a new or a refurbished product that is the same as or similar to the product you purchased;
2. repair the product using either new or refurbished parts; or
3. refund to you the purchase price of the product.

There is no assurance, representation or warranty that any replacement product will be identical to or will offer the same functionalities as the product returned to us. Technological advances and product availability may result in your receiving a replacement product with a lower selling price than the original product you purchased. In all cases, product comparability will be determined by us at our sole discretion.

This limited warranty applies only to products purchased within the United States (including the lower 48 states, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, but excluding APO/FPO addresses that are outside of those named jurisdictions)(collectively, the “Territory”). Replacement and repaired products or parts will only be shipped to addresses within the Territory, and refunds will only be credited to accounts located within the Territory. This limited warranty applies only to hardware components of the product. All parts and products that you return to us and for which we give you a refund or replacement will become our or our affiliate’s property upon our receipt. Failure to ship the damaged part or product back to us may result in your being charged for the replacement part or product at full retail price.
